My only complaint is that with my old Kindle, when I opened the cast, it would automatically load, unlock, and move off the screensaver and with the new Kindle, it loads but then I still have to swipe to open to unlock it and move off the screensaver. I havent found a setting to change this either.
Hi! I’m 7 years old, and I LOVE my new Kindle Paperwhite Kids! It’s like having a whole library in my hands, but way lighter than carrying all my books (which my mom says is a good thing because my backpack is already super full).

My son feels like a real reader with his Kindle Paperwhite Kids. It’s his favorite thing to bring on car trips, and loves it for reading before bed now! If you love books, you NEED this!! The quality and price you cannot beat! The cover it came with was the perfect color scheme for him and he truly loves having it wherever we go!
Overall it was a great purchase and well worth the money. I got it for the case and the case is very soft and the colors are popping. The kids section was pretty well done I was wondering how that was set up and it was just a smaller library that you give the kid permission to read and they can just go at it and with the subscription they can read more kid friendly books included. I think you can even control that aspect with your phone or computer.
Adult or kid as long as they can read they will be able to use and hopefully enjoy this device. Not going to promise a love of reading but when that’s all they can do on this it’s a good screen for a little reader to have
I love that it has soft lighting features. It's easy to navigate and makes reading so convenient and enjoyable.
This one came with a free warranty which is a plus! If you use as an adult kindle and don't add the kids function you will still get ads! Just an FYI. I don't find ads as an inconvenience personally. They're literally only there for a second until you swipe.
The case that came with it was a good quality and colorful! I actually don't mind it and am not in a hurry to switch it.
This new version is so much quicker and speedier than the previous versions. Quicker when scrolling, quicker when searching, quicker when typing. I love it and can't go back to the previous version and I will be keeping this one.
It does feel a little larger than the previous generation Kindle Paperwhite Kids which I had with the green cover. (I did like the green cover better.) I don't think this new one needed to be larger. My old cover will not fit with this new Kindle Paperwhite Kids.
Sadly, still no text-to-speech, of course. I think the Assistive Reader is unbearably clunky.
The last thing you need to be aware of is that there are ads and no way to get rid of them, except you can turn the personalized ads off. I didn't have ads on my previous Kindle Paperwhite Kids. I find this annoying.
