The Kindle Scribe Folio Cover also includes a convenient pen holder to keep your Kindle Scribe Basic or Premium Pen secure. For extra convenience, you can also attach the pen magnetically to the side of your Kindle Scribe.

Crafted for comfort and style, the slim, lightweight design allows for hours of uninterrupted reading and writing. The magnetic closure ensures the cover stays securely shut, while its automatic wake/sleep feature powers up your Kindle Scribe when opened and powers it down when closed.

Made with eco-conscious materials, the cover includes 50% post-consumer recycled PC in the sidewalls, 30% post-consumer recycled glass fiber in the core panels, and 100% post-consumer recycled polyester yarn in the outer fabric. The microfiber interior further protects your screen, keeping it clean and free of scratches.

Like the case, fabric, design and functionality with origami folds. Got a better deal by buying a “like new” one. If I take the case/scribe out of the house, I still put the whole thing in another sleeve bag. Magnets work well, but if you dropped the scribe with only folio case on it, might get damaged since edges are exposed and scribe might pop out. This was a personal thing, but I cut off the pen loop; like it better that way and the magnet holds pen in place on the side fine.

Honestly, from some of the reviews I was expecting either one of two things to happen within the first couple of months of using this Kindle Scribe folio case. Either a.) the case would start fraying around the edges, or b.) my beloved Kindle Scribe would simply slide out the case and smash into pieces on the floor.

This case is beautifully made. It’s sturdy, handsome, and incredibly functional. The magnets that hold the Kindle in place are strong, and the various positions the case goes in are useful. I use my Kindle for a lot of writing and a fair bit of reading, and the case only helps with this, with the angled stand position aiding both reading and writing.

I found a piece of melted chocolate on the woven case fabric and was concerned I would be able to clean it well. I shouldn’t have worried, it cleans as if it is smooth, rather than the textured fabric it is.

It is light weight, but rigid enough to write on unsupported by a desk and offer decent protection. And as for use, the stylus holder is secure but not so tight that it’s a struggle to get the stylus in or out. Unlike many cases, I don’t need to remove the Kindle to charge it.

As for my initial two concerns? Well, I take my kindle everywhere: conferences, meetings, on a walk, or on our two week family camping trip. Now, I’m sensible with it, not slinging my bag around, and not just chucking the encased Kindle into my bag….but I’m not precious about it. There are no frays, no marks, and the Kindle has remained safely in place. The only time I’ve removed it from the case is on the odd occasion I want to use the Kindle on its own (full disclosure: I’m a bit vain, and think it looks nice). Given it’s held in place in the case by magnets, I can do that easily.

So, top marks from me and initial fears allayed.

I really like this case for my Scribe. I bought a Kindle Scribe during the Prime Day sale, and I knew I needed a case for it. I have the Kindle case for my Paperwhite made of the same material and color, so I thought I'd give it a go. I was a little apprehensive about the flip-cover nature of the case and the pen loop being located where it is, but it turns out to make the most sense for a device of this size and type. Since the auto rotate of the screen is locked into either portrait or landscape, then switching handles while reading and the case is open is very comfortable. and since it's a flip case, the magnet on the premium pen locks on the side for easy access whether the case is open or not.
Also, another thing to note: the Scribe is attached to the case via magnets. I read other reviews saying the magnets weren't strong enough and there was worry about the Scribe falling out of the case too easily. But honestly, that sucker is in there fairly tight. I have no concerns with it accidentally falling out.
Also, there were some other reviewers showing the material on the case fraying quickly. I haven't had the folio case long enough to really weigh in on my experience with the Scribe, but I have the Kindle Paperwhite case of the same material and it's been solid for a while (more than seven months). I also have a fabric case for my Kindle 10th Edition that's years old that is still appearing almost like new. So I'm happy with my purchase.
Overall, I'm very happy with my choice. The cost is a bit more than I'd like to spend, but based on cases of the same material from years past, I'm happy with it.

I bought the Scribe essentials pack in November, with the blue denim Folio. The price for the folio by itself seems steep, but it's very reasonable if you wait for Amazon Day/Black Friday/Boxing Day pricing along with the bundle discount.

The more I used it, the more I realized what a good overall design it is:
    - Multiple kickstand angles make it useful in a variety of situations. It's very stable when standing up.
    - Surprisingly, the fabric didn't seem to soak up fluids, or get stained from handling.
    - Protruding edges and strong magnetic attachment make it surprisingly protective for an open-sided case, and help to keep the pen in place if you leave it magnetically attached to the Scribe.
    - Still, I found that the pen could get bumped off too easily when picking the tablet up, or walking around with it. That's when the pen loop is invaluable. It has just the right tension to hold the pen, yet it's easy to retrieve when you're ready to write.
    - The fabric is grippy, and makes it easier to hang on to the device when reading.
    - I wasn't sure about a top-hinged cover at first, but it turned out to be very accommodating when seated, writing on a table, lying on my back or on my side while reading in bed, etc.
    - BIG feature for left-handed users: you can flip your Scribe 180 degrees in the case, so the "grip side" of the Scribe is on the right, and the cover still works perfectly- not just as a cover, but as a kickstand. Access to the power button is just as good for right-hand or left-hand use. This is a major plus- seem my comment below about trying an Onyx Boox tablet with a side-hinged folio cover!

My only complaint about the fabric folio, was the way it was finished- the edges felt almost uncomfortably sharp, and as other people have reported, regular handling over a couple of weeks was enough to cause the edges to start fraying. I actually had to trim little threads off the cover with my nail scissors.

My reason for posting this review, is that I returned my Scribe before Christmas in order to try out a competing tablet from Boox. That experience further reinforced what a good little folio this is. The placement of the magnets on the Note Air3 C folio wasn't symmetrical- it was cumbersome, but stood firm in right-handed use. But when I flipped the tablet, the magnets were now in the wrong place- it wouldn't stand up at all!

I ended up returning the NA3C, and ordering another Scribe. Imagine how pleased I was when I unboxed the Folio (I got the blue denim again), and discovered that it has neatly rolled and heat-sealed edges! Picture attached...

The new edge treatment makes it feel more comfortable in the hand, and pulled threads shouldn't be a problem this time around.

I purchased this cover because it came with a bundle. That being said, it would've been my go-to as I was having trouble finding any other magnetic cover. Most were clip on devices and I wanted to be able to take the case off when reading in bed due to weight. I enjoy the cover as it let's me prob the device at an angle for writing or for reading. My only gripe with the angle for writing is it is a bit severe of an angle for me. The vertical orientation for reading is great. The stylus holder has not loosened yet so that's good. I do find the cover opens sometimes in my bag but that's mostly because I put the tablet stylus holder up so I don't crush the stylus. The stylus weight then opens the cover in my bag. Overall a good cover. Love the fabric and eas of removal.

The cover has started to fray on some of the seems already and it's only a couple months old :/

Worked Great Before, Even Better Now with Updates

Between work and various personal writing/design projects, I used to go through a lot (and I mean A LOT) of paper notepads. I've been looking for an electronic solution that would allow me to keep my handwritten notes all in one place so I don't have to go rifling through 80 different pads (not to mention the waste, cost, and clutter of all that paper), but nothing really stuck out - products like Remarkable require a subscription, others don't have the tactile writing experience I wanted. The Kindle Scribe absolutely fits the bill. And it has only gotten more useful now that they pushed an update including different pen tips and allowing sub-folders.

Things I use it for/Pros are:
    - Keeping my handwritten notes organized and in one place.
    - Taking notes on PDFs (game reference sheets, academic articles, etc.).
    - Checklists and general organization.
    - Basic line drawings, sketches, and diagrams.
    - Reading PDFs and and my Kindle library.
    - Emailing myself notes/sketches as PDFs.

Things it is NOT good for/Cons:
    - You can do some basic drawing on this, but it is NOT an artist's drawing tablet.
    - Currently, you can only add note tags to Kindle books rather than marking over the page with handwritten notes. May be more of an issue for some than others.
    - It has a very basic web browser, but it is really not meant for surfing.
    - It is a little bit heavy compared to other Kindles - which makes sense given that it is larger - but this does make it holding up while reading in bed, for example, a bit awkward.

    Suggestions for future updates:
    - Additional standard note templates (hex graph paper, please!), and the ability to upload new, custom templates.
    - Ability to switch between templates within a single notebook.

Overall: A bit pricey, but so far not an ounce of regret regarding this purchase. May not be for everyone, so make sure it fits your needs before purchase (i.e. it is NOT a general-use tablet), but if your requirements are anything like mine, I highly recommend.
